Tired of being an angry troll in the morning? Feel stressed and anxious from the start most days because you're just trying to get out the door on time? Are you 0 to 100 as soon as your alarm goes off? (Perhaps after hitting snooze 5 times.)
Talk about unsettling.
If you want to stop feeling like the description above, then you need to try some of these 5 calming morning habits:

Make sure you have some time to yourself even if it's just 5-10 minutes. That quiet time in the morning where you can simply just be is so important. No expectations. No where to be. Allowing yourself that time of stillness will do wonders for your wellness.
Spend time in meditation or prayer. Connecting within and to God, Source, your own chosen higher power is really grounding and calming.
Do some journaling. Whether you're dumping random stuff in your brain, getting clear on what's going on for your day, or using journal prompts this can be a great creative outlet or way to get some more clarity in your life.
Doing yoga or mobility/stretching. I dunno about you, but I can be stiff AF some mornings. Do you really wanna be stiff then drive to work feeling stiff, then sit at a desk all day being stiff, drive home again even more stiff? Talk about aches and pains. MOVE YOUR BODY. This is even more important if your job requires a lot of sitting or standing!
Take a walk outside. This is a double whammy because it gets your body moving plus nature time and exposure to sunlight which helps a lot with our circadian rhythms.
The key in the morning is to have your face out of your phone and in your real life.
Play around with this and see what works for you. Keep in mind a calming morning routine doesn't have to be an hour long. It can be 10 minutes, 30 minutes, etc. And it can also change from day to day based on your schedule. Allow yourself some flexibility!
Some mornings I will do journaling, meditation, and yoga. Most mornings it's just journaling and meditation. On my busiest mornings it may just be journaling or meditation.
And some mornings I skip...and I sure can tell when I do.
So, create a routine that works for you and ENJOY it!
